Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Gangtok

Upon your arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Bagdogra Airport (IXB), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction), our representative will warmly welcome you. You will be assisted with your transfer to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Known for its blend of tranquility and adventure, Gangtok sits at an elevation of 1,670 meters (5,480 feet) and is celebrated for its monasteries, mystical rituals, and vibrant festivals. This picturesque town, adorned with varieties of rhododendrons, orchids, and butterflies, is one of India’s most popular destinations. The journey covers approximately 135 kilometers and takes around 4-5 hours by road.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, you are free to explore the vibrant M G Road (Mall) or the local shopping centers. Enjoy the night at your hotel in Gangtok.

Day 2Gangtok Sightseeing

Morning: Visit Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, and Hanuman Tok for panoramic views of the Himalayas. Continue to Enchey Monastery and the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom. Explore the Flower Exhibition Center and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.

In evening, Leisure time for exploring local markets. Stay at a hotel in Gangtok overnight.

Day 3Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before departing for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. This journey covers approximately 40 kilometers and takes around 2 hours, passing through the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary. This sanctuary is home to diverse wildlife, including the red panda and blood pheasant, and features stunning views of rhododendrons and other alpine flora.

Tsomgo Lake: Situated at an elevation of 3,753 meters (12,310 feet), Tsomgo Lake is a beautiful oval-shaped lake, approximately 50 feet deep. It is often covered in snow and is a habitat for Brahmini ducks and various migratory birds, making it a picturesque and serene spot.

Baba Mandir: Nearby, visit the sacred Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a revered site dedicated to a legendary Indian soldier. The site holds significant religious importance for locals and visitors alike.

Optional Visit: Depending on the weather and border conditions, you may have the option to visit Nathu La Pass, located about 20 kilometers from the lake. This pass leads to the border with China and offers spectacular views. However, access is subject to conditions such as ice and security regulations.

Return to Gangtok: After the excursion, return to Gangtok in the evening. You can spend your free time exploring MG Road (Mall) or shopping at local centers.

Overnight: Stay at your hotel in Gangtok.

Day 4Transfer from Gangtok to Pelling

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Gangtok to Pelling, which is approximately 4-5 hours away. Pelling is renowned for its breathtaking views of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga mountains and its surrounding ranges, including Koktang, Frey, Rathong, Kabru North and South, Kabru Dom, Talung, Pandim, Jopuno, Tinchikhang, and Narsing. Situated at an altitude of 1,900 meters (6,250 feet), Pelling offers stunning vistas of these majestic peaks, providing one of the best vantage points for observing the Himalayas without compromising on comfort. The town’s strategic location has led to the establishment of numerous hotels and lodges, making it a popular base for visitors looking to experience the natural beauty of the region.

Day 5Pelling Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, set out to explore the local sights of Pelling. Begin with a visit to the picturesque Rimbi Waterfalls, known for its serene beauty and a popular spot for picnics. Continue to Kanchenjunga Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region, surrounded by lush greenery. Visit Khecheopalri Lake, a sacred lake revered by both Buddhists and Hindus. The lake is known for its tranquil waters and is believed to be a wish-fulfilling lake. Explore Rimbi Rock Garden, a scenic spot along the Rimbi River, offering beautiful views and a peaceful environment. Visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in Sikkim, known for its exquisite architecture and religious significance. Enjoy scenic views along the way as you drive through lush tea gardens and rolling hills. Nestled among the rolling mountains with the majestic Mount Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling is fondly known as the “Queen of the Hills.” This charming hill station is renowned for its stunning landscapes, colonial charm, and vibrant culture. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore or relax. Overnight Stay at your hotel in Darjeeling, where you can unwind and prepare for the local sightseeing planned for the next day.

Day 7Darjeeling Sightseeing

Start your day early with a drive to Tiger Hill, a renowned sunrise point. Witness the breathtaking view of the sun rising over Mount Kanchenjunga, a sight that attracts visitors from all over the world.

On the Way Back:

  • Batasia Loop: Visit the Batasia Loop, a spiral railway track known for its panoramic views and the war memorial dedicated to the Gorkha soldiers.
