Upon arriving at Leh Airport, tour guests will be warmly greeted by the PG tour manager and transferred to their designated hotel. Guests who have opted for the Joining and Leaving option will meet the group on their own, with any transfer costs to the hotel being their responsibility.

You’ll set out on a fascinating journey from Nubra Valley to Turtuk, one of the northernmost villages in India, which was first opened to tourists in 2010. Turtuk is known for its vibrant Balti culture, scenic beauty, and proximity to the Line of Control (LOC).

While en route, you will pass the Thoise Airport, a military airfield crucial to the Indian Armed Forces’ operations in this region.

Upon reaching Turtuk, you will visit the historic Turtuk wooden bridge, a simple but charming structure that connects parts of the village over the Shyok River. You’ll also pay homage at the Shyok War Memorial, a poignant reminder of the military history and strategic importance of the region.

After that, a leisurely walk through the Baltic village offers you an opportunity to experience the unique culture and hospitality of the Balti people. The village is nestled in stunning surroundings, with apricot orchards and green fields adding to its charm.

Next, you will head to Thang Village, subject to operations, which is the northernmost last village at the LOC (Line of Control). Today, you’ll embark on a scenic journey to Kargil, passing through the Fotu La Pass and Namki La Pass, two of the highest passes in the region, offering stunning views of the rugged landscapes. On your way, you’ll explore Sham Valley, visiting some notable landmarks:

Patthar Sahib Gurudwara – Built in memory of Guru Nanak, this peaceful Gurudwara is known for its religious significance and beautiful location.

Magnetic Hill – This natural wonder, also called Gravity Hill, creates the optical illusion of vehicles moving uphill against gravity.

Sangam of Indus & Zanskar Rivers – Witness the confluence of two of the Himalayas’ great rivers, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle.

Next, you’ll visit Alchi Gompa, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh, famous for its 11th-12th century wall paintings that are still well-preserved and provide a glimpse into the region’s ancient culture.

You’ll also see the unique Moonland terrain, where the landscape resembles the surface of the moon.

Finally, you’ll visit the Lamayuru Monastery, one of the largest and oldest gompas in Ladakh, perched dramatically on the cliffs and offering a tranquil atmosphere.

Arrive in Kargil by evening, where you’ll spend the night.

Your first stop will be at the Drass War Memorial, also known as the Vijay Memorial, which was built in honor of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil War. Next, you’ll head towards the Aryan Village, a unique settlement in Ladakh. These tribes are believed to be the descendants of Alexander the Great’s army, and their unique traditions, language, and appearance distinguish them from the rest of Ladakh.

You’ll have the opportunity to walk through the villages, interact with the locals, and gain insights into their way of life. The vibrant and colorful traditional attire of the Drokpa people, along with their ancient customs, makes this experience truly enriching.

After spending time in this culturally rich valley, you will proceed back to Leh, retracing your journey through the scenic landscapes of Ladakh.
