Day 1Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station to Sillery Gaon (1829m or 6000ft / 4-5 hrs drive)

Upon arrival at the Railway Station/Airport, our representative/driver will greet you and assist with your luggage. You will then embark on your journey to Sillery Gaon, a picturesque village situated at an altitude of 6000 ft, affectionately known by locals as New Darjeeling. Sillery Gaon is a charming hamlet, home to around 24 to 25 families, nestled within a beautiful jungle. The village offers a pleasant atmosphere and a sublime view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Upon arrival, check into your Hotel or Homestay, and spend the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay at Sillery Gaon.

Day 2Sillery Gaon to Aritar (1498m or 4815ft / 3-4 hrs drive)

After a hearty breakfast, you will head towards Aritar village, located in the Rongli subdivision on the Sikkim side. Aritar is renowned for its natural and landscaped beauty, characterized by lush green forests, majestic mountains, and vibrant rivers. This scenic village offers a tranquil retreat amidst nature’s bounty.

Today, your exploration includes a visit to the beautiful Lampokhari Lake, one of the oldest natural lakes in Sikkim. The lake is known for its serene ambiance and is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers. Day 3Aritar to Zuluk (2865m or 9400ft/ 3-4 hrs drive)

After enjoying a hearty morning breakfast, your journey will continue towards Zuluk. Before setting off, it’s essential to finalize all necessary permit proceedings, as Zuluk is situated near the Indo-China border and falls within a restricted area requiring special permissions for visitors.

Zuluk, also known as Dzuluk, is a relatively offbeat destination in Sikkim, retaining a primitive charm that makes it a unique experience for travelers. Perched at an altitude of approximately 10,000 feet, this picturesque hamlet is nestled on rugged terrain, offering breathtaking views and a serene environment.

Zuluk holds historical significance as it was an important stop along the ancient Old-Silk-Route. Day 4Zuluk to Nathang Valley (4115m or 13500ft / 3-4 hrs drive)

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive towards Nathang Valley and Kupup, traveling via Lungthung. This part of the journey takes you into the higher altitudes of the region, where the weather and road conditions, particularly the presence of ice, can significantly impact driving. It’s crucial to be prepared for these conditions and plan accordingly.

The first stop is at Rongli for documentation and permit formalities, as this area requires special permits due to its proximity to the border. Once the necessary procedures are complete, you will proceed to explore some of the most breathtaking viewpoints and landscapes along the Silk Route.

Thambi Viewpoint: Located at an elevation of 11,000 feet, this viewpoint offers panoramic views of the winding roads of Zuluk, which form a serpentine pattern known as the “Zig Zag Road.” On a clear day, you can also catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga from this vantage point.

The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, offering glimpses of the serene Eastern Himalayas, dense forests, and traditional hill settlements.

Reshikhola is small village derives its name from the Reshi River, which meanders through the region, providing a soothing backdrop to the rustic surroundings.
